How TedPack Helps You Make Better Flexible Packaging solutions

Introduction

For a brand, packaging serves as a pivotal link in the journey of a product from creation to the consumer. Beyond merely providing physical protection, packaging influences a product’s presentation and usability, as well as its seamless integration into the processes of production, logistics, retail, and—ultimately—repeat purchasing.
TedPack  offers more than just a selection of packaging options; we empower our clients to establish a clearer, more logical framework for their decision-making. By taking into account the product itself, the client’s current business stage, real-world application scenarios, and future growth trajectories, we guide our clients toward the optimal flexible packaging solutions.
This embodies our interpretation of “Deliver Reliability“: reliability is not merely demonstrated in the final delivery, but is woven into the fabric of every critical packaging decision along the way.

custom flexible packaging solutions for different product needs

We Start with the Product, Not just the Pouch

When starting a packaging project, clients often ask, “What type of bag should I choose?“However, at TedPack, we believe it is more important to first understand: “What kind of protection, functionality, and user experience does the product require?”Different products have distinct packaging requirements. Packaging solutions for liquid products typically prioritize leak prevention, seal integrity, ease of pouring, and Spout Design ; Packaging solutions for food products require careful consideration of barrier properties, shelf life, and safety; meanwhile, products sold via e-commerce channels place a greater emphasis on transit protection and packaging compression strength.

Therefore, TedPack does not simply recommend packaging solutions based solely on aesthetics or popular pouch styles. Instead, we begin by understanding the product’s characteristics, usage scenarios, shipping conditions, and the brand’s development philosophy; we then work backward to determine the most suitable pouch style, material structure, functional design, and production method.

Lunar Tides a U.S.-based hair dye brand operating primarily through e-commerce. The client’s initial objective was to switch to a different pouch format—one that would facilitate stronger brand expression and accommodate a diverse range of SKUs.Before  partnering with Tedpack, Lunar Tides utilized traditional rigid packaging; however, this conventional packaging format posed significant obstacles to the brand’s growth and expansion.Through our subsequent discussions, we identified that the client’s original rigid packaging was prone to leakage during transit. Furthermore, their existing packaging failed to effectively convey the brand’s core philosophy. Consequently, Lunar Tides sought a partner capable of supporting their continued growth while simultaneously demonstrating a deep understanding of their brand’s vision.

Rather than simply approaching the challenge from the perspective of “which pouch style to choose,” TedPack developed an optimal flexible packaging solution grounded in these specific, real-world requirements. To address leakage concerns, we enhanced barrier properties through an aluminum-based structural design and utilized spouted pouches to ensure product reusability. We employed digital printing technology to facilitate flexible production, accommodating multiple SKUs and small-batch runs. Furthermore, to convey a premium visual and tactile impression, we incorporated soft-touch coatings, spot UV finishes, and custom-designed black spouts—a comprehensive solution that empowers Lunar Tides to confidently take its next step forward.

In TedPack’s view, making the right packaging choice does not begin with “which bag style to select,” but rather with understanding what the product truly needs.

We Understand the Customer’s Business Stage

The most suitable packaging solution depends not only on the product itself but also on the specific business stage the client is currently in.While Startups, Growth-Stage brands, and Mature brands all require flexible packaging, their primary concerns are not entirely identical.

Startups may prioritize MOQ, small-batch testing, budget control, and rapid time-to-market;Growth-Stage brands focus more on supply chain stability, packaging quality consistency, and whether their packaging can support channel expansion;Mature brands value production scalability, equipment compatibility, long-term quality stability, cost optimization, and sustainable packaging upgrades.

Piko Provisions (hereinafter referred to as “Piko”) was founded in 2020. For a starups food brand like Piko, packaging solutions must strike a balance between cost-effectiveness and future scalability.Consequently, a packaging strategy featuring Startups production, multiple SKUs, market testing, and inherent scalability is far more appropriate than immediately incurring excessive development costs or facing the pressures of complex manufacturing processes.Accordingly, TedPack approached the project from the perspective of Piko’s specific business needs, assisting the brand in identifying the ideal spouted pouch format for its baby food products. This comprehensive assessment incorporated factors such as pricing, MOQ for digital printing, shipping logistics, and production lead times.

Returning to Lunar Tides: as previously noted, prior to our collaboration, they were already an established hair dye brand; however, their reliance on a singular, inflexible packaging format had created numerous complications for them. For a Growth-Stage brands, an effective packaging solution entails far more than simply serving as a vessel for the product; it must demonstrate the capacity to support an expanding range of SKUs, ensure more reliable delivery, enhance brand presence, and streamline operational efficiency.

Tedpack addressed these requirements by employing digital printing to accommodate the brand’s diverse SKU portfolio, utilizing premium finishing techniques to elevate the packaging’s tactile quality and visual identity, and optimizing structural design to improve shipping stability and filling efficiency. For a growth-stage brand like Lunar Tides, the true value of a packaging solution lies not merely in resolving immediate issues—such as leaks or poor packaging performance—but, more importantly, in facilitating a continuous stream of new product launches, maintaining a consistent visual brand experience, and providing the flexibility necessary to support future product line expansions.

The right packaging solution should be suitable for the client’s current business stage while also supporting their next phase of growth.

We Make Packaging Solutions Work in Real Application

Packaging decisions cannot be validated solely on paper; rather, an appropriate packaging solution must be evaluated within its complete operational context. From filling on the production line, through the transport of finished goods and retail shelf display, to the consumer’s actual usage—every single stage has the potential to influence whether a packaging solution is truly reliable.

Before implementing a packaging solution, we carefully assess whether the packaging is compatible with the client’s filling equipment, whether the pouch dimensions facilitate efficient production and packing, whether the packaging remains stable during transit, and whether it is user-friendly for consumers.

These considerations are critical because packaging is not merely an isolated product; rather, it serves as a vital link within the broader ecosystem of production systems, supply chains, brand experiences, and consumer usage.

During our collaboration with Piko, their production environment underwent a transformation—upgrading from relatively simple filling machinery to fully automated filling systems. In response to this new operational context, TedPack promptly adapted the baby food packaging solution by incorporating a guide-rail structure into the pouch design, thereby ensuring seamless integration into their automated production workflow.

A reliable packaging solution does not merely look right; it must also remain stable and dependable throughout the stages of production, delivery, sales, and usage.

We Make Packaging Decisions Scalable for Future Growth

The packaging requirements of many brands evolve rapidly alongside their business growth: today, a brand might have just a single product line, yet in the future, it could expand to include multiple flavors or product sizes; today, it might be conducting only small-batch market testing, but later transition into a phase of stable, recurring sales; and while sales might currently be limited to the local area, the brand could eventually enter new regional distribution channels or the national market.

If the initial packaging decisions are too narrow, every subsequent change could entail redevelopment, retesting, and additional costs.

This is precisely why we places such a strong emphasis on future scalability within its packaging solutions. We assist our clients in thinking ahead:

  • Can different SKUs share a common structural foundation?
  • Is the printing method flexible enough to accommodate variations across multiple versions?
  • Is the current packaging suitable for anticipated growth in future order volumes?
  • Is the supply chain capable of transitioning smoothly from small-batch production to consistent, recurring orders?
  • Can the packaging structure adapt to subsequent equipment upgrades or channel expansions?

Taking Piko as an example, the client initially focused primarily on pricing, printing methods, lead times, and basic functional requirements for their baby food packaging. However, as the brand evolved, the variety of flavors gradually expanded, and their core market—originally concentrated in Hawaii—began to extend outward. Consequently, the packaging solution could not merely serve the initial order; it also needed to possess the capacity to support future SKU growth, regional expansion, and long-term collaboration. From the outset, we assisted the client in identifying the optimal spouted pouch format for their baby food products, while simultaneously ensuring sufficient flexibility to accommodate future product line extensions.

Lunar Tides exemplifies the need for a “scalable packaging system” inherent to growing brands. As a U.S. hair dye brand boasting over 50 SKUs and a continuously evolving product line, the client required more than just a one-off packaging refresh; they sought a comprehensive packaging solution capable of supporting multiple product variations, diverse SKUs, and the brand’s ongoing visual expression.

Leveraging digital printing—a technology that has facilitated their expansion from over 50 to more than 60 SKUs—we enabled Lunar Tides to respond with greater agility to the demands of small-batch, multi-version packaging. Furthermore, by integrating premium surface finishes with structural optimizations, the packaging solution was designed not only to accommodate current product upgrades but also to seamlessly support future new product launches and the broader visual extension of the brand.

TedPack does not merely help customers make a single packaging choice; rather, it helps them make a choice that offers greater long-term value.
